Newtasc
The aim of this Interreg IIIb project is:
Through
transnational co-operation, develop key strategies and actions and
standards for the effective regeneration and sustainable development of
New Towns to ensure their future competitiveness in terms of their
physical, economic and social image and community identity.

The project will seek to address this aim by focussing actions on:
- environmental regeneration;
- social cohesion;
- economic development.
Clearly none of these actions is mutually exclusive. Without the social infrastructure and an environment of quality, economic development will struggle to take place. The same case can be made for social cohesion that is not possible without economic development and a quality environment and again the same can be said for environmental regeneration.
The project started with a global overview of the situation of the New Towns across North West Europe, which has allowed the delivery of a contextual analysis. This study has set up the basis on which the project has been developed.

During the project, many actions have been implemented and initiatives developed in the frame of the 3 defined themes. The main deliverables are a Book of Artists, produced when a network of artists has been set up, and a Final Toolkit, which presents the outputs and results of the project.
Final Toolkits are available on demand by contacting the ENTP (M.V. Polonowski) at marie.polonwski@newtowns.net
