We are pleased to invite you to the ENTP General Assembly 2009 in Figueres (Alt Emporda) on the 30^th of September-2^nd of October.

The theme is "How can Local authorities face the financial crisis?" The event will be followed by study visits. If you would like to make a presentation at this event please send an abstract to assistant@newtowns.net before April 15th.

•         Resilience in a recession, how cities, towns and agglomerations can lead recovery in the crisis?

•         Best practice learning

•         How to successfully sell your city building networks, the sustainability agenda and role of business/leisure tourism?

•         How to create a town’s image and identity for tomorrow?

•         The importance of civic leadership

Subthemes:

1.  The financial crises: what are the impacts for local resources (credit crunch, investments, taxes, resources, development plans for the next year).

2.   Revitalization of economy within town centers: how to stimulate SMEs, self employment and innovation within Local authorities

3.   Instruments for inward economy

4.      Cultural infrastructures (and artistic creations?) as a way to stimulate economy

•          3.30 pm;            Visit of the Dali museum

•          5:30-7:30 pm:      Training sessions about  European projects

•          7:30-9:00 pm:      Free time and networking

•          9.00 pm              Diner at the Duran Restaurant

Thursday 1^st of October

•          8.00 am Departure for “La Jonquera”

•          9.00 am: Arrival to the “Museum of Exile”

•          9.00 to 2.00 pm: 1st Session conference

•          2.00 pm: Lunch in La Jonquera

•          3.00 pm: Visit of the museum and new urban developments and new areas

•          7.00 pm return to Figueres

•          9.00 pm: Diner at the Duran restaurant

Friday 2^nd of October

•         8.00 am: Breakfast

•         9.00 am to 1.30 PM: 2nd session conference and ENTP General Assembly

•         2.00 pm: Lunch

•         3.00 pm: End of the meeting

•         Nearest Airport: Girona. Taxi from airport: +/-70 Euros or Train from Girona central station +/- 4 Euros. Departures every 45 minutes.
