Riverscape - Towards a North-West-European ICT community for riverine management tasks

 

Objective(s): to apply, test, improve and promote existing ICT software in an institutional frame within the context of management and sustainable development of river corridors, floodplains and entire catchments. ICT software comprises a wide range of applications: planning, knowledge management, communication, evaluation, decision support, etc.

Deadline: workshop to launch the project idea on the 23rd of April 2007 in the Darmstadt University of Technology

The deliverables:

  • a North-West-European ICT community for riverine management tasks
  • public platform for download open source ICT software
  • training courses for selected ICT systems
  • case studies in the NWE-territory
 
Partnership: Institutions and authorities involved in managing rivers in NWE, developers of existing DSSes, regional and provincial organisations, waterboards, waterways and shipping administration, ...
