Urban Drift
URBAN DRIFT
“Architecture should allow people to think the unthinkable” Cedric Price
OVERVIEW OF A CURATORIAL PRACTICE
urban drift is an international network for contemporary urban strategies. Initiated in Berlin by the journalist and curator, Francesca Ferguson, it has developed exhibitions, conferences, symposia and workshops since 1996 that reflect upon architectural themes in the light of economic and social developments. urban drift offers a new generation of architects, designers and urbanists a platform for an interdisciplinary and trans-cultural architectural discourse in the wake of globalisation and the development of new design technologies. This platform has been developed as a curatorial practice that seeks to communicate contemporary artistic and architectural strategies that employ the city as a medium. Its activities are focussed on building international networks, collaborating with city partners, conceiving and holding events in a variety of formats, bringing together discussions in the urban and art fields and linking innovative theory with architectural practice.
